Artists Healing Japan – FLOOD OF EMOTION

On March 11, 2011, an 8.9 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Northeast Japan spawned a ferocious tsunami that caused massive destruction; flattening whole cities, starting raging fires, and killing thousands. Within weeks, Allied Stone + Just Us League + Hamilton-Smith Foundation organized and hosted a Sendai Relief fundraiser event at Allied Stone in Dallas, Texas that brought together some 150 local and international artists who donated their works of art to assists the citizens of Sendai, which has been an International Friendship City of Dallas/Fort Worth since 1997. The fundraiser event on April 9th, 2011 was a huge success with close to a thousand visitors arriving at Allied Stone to peruse and purchase the donated art. In all, we collected $11,500.00 in a single night. A check for this amount was presented to the Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth on May 18th, to be distributed in Sendai for essential services.

Dreamy Onyx

Dress up your space with a selection from our new Onyx series. Onyx is often used as light duty countertops, bar tops, and fireplace surrounds. Consider it the stone that makes a statement as each import has its own alluring quality. Also each onyx type varies in appearance, rarely does the viewer not have visions of island beaches, tropical paradise, or cellular explosions (see Arco Iris). So imagine the possibilities, then design your space to include the intrigue of Onyx.
